Founder's Words
Humans have benevolent nature because of conscience, societies have harmony because of empathy. In the old days, self-reflection is important because success or failure depends on the individual efforts and personal strife. However, in the future, what determines success is teamwork and collaboration. We need to apply and extend the self-reflective capability externally into “putting ourselves into other people’s shoes”, a perspective thinking base like Empathy. It is a cognitive ability as well as a virtue, which enables us to learn better, enhance our interpersonal communication and enrich our leadership skills. Moreover, it expands our circle of influence. Empathy is the cornerstone for the success and happiness of next generations. In Chinese we have a saying “Cultivate the self, regulate the family, govern the state, then lead the world to peace.” Let our conscience be the start of cultivating ourselves, and empathy be the means and ends of world’s peace and social harmony based on “S.H.A.R.E”. - Mandy Chan
